BUILDING SUCCESS TOGETHER

A better steel joist and deck experience

New Millennium is more than a leading manufacturer of steel joists and deck.

At our very core we are a collaborative partner focused on supporting the needs of our customers. When you work with New Millennium, you have an experienced team that works side-by-side with you. Together, let’s build it better.

Our commitment to you

Because no steel project succeeds in isolation, we collaborate with key stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle. Each serves a distinct role, yet all work in sync to deliver successful projects.

Steel Joists and Girders

Steel joists construction site

Engineered for easier and faster erection, these primary framing members support concentrated loads for roofs and floors in steel construction. Compared to wide-flange beams, the open-web design provides an efficient use of steel, lowering raw material costs while maintaining strength. Longer span capabilities translate to fewer support requirements, providing greater flexibility to interior spaces. The inherent ability of joist webs to easily integrate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing can reduce floor-to-floor height requirements.

Available in a wide range of profiles, and custom fabricated to meet the performance requirements of your commercial steel project, steel joists and girders can be delivered and staged for efficient erection. Steel joists and girders from New Millennium are engineered and manufactured in accordance with the specifications of the Steel Joist Institute (SJI).

Steel Roof and Floor Deck

Choose from our comprehensive range of steel deck profiles and configurations to meet the structural and architectural requirements of your project. Steel deck be specified with optional acoustical treatments to mitigate sound in roofing and flooring applications where the deck will remain exposed. Architectural deck profiles can be used to achieve various aesthetic effects, including linear plank, deep-fluted, or a smooth underside with a riveted cellular liner panel.

Steel deck readily integrates with steel joists and joist girders, as well as with structural steel beams and cold-formed steel framing. To reduce installation time, decks are available in lengths up to 40 feet, with many profiles available up to 36-inches wide. In composite floor systems, steel deck bonds with concrete to create a composite slab.

Steel Joists vs Beams: Get the Facts

Faster lead times

Is your project facing serious delays due to the extended lead times for wide-flange beams? You are probably facing the challenges brought on by the massive push for data center construction. Steel joists and girders are the ideal solution, providing equal performance with dramatically shorter leads times.

Performance comparison

Are you unsure about substituting steel joists for wide-flange beams on your project? There is a lingering misconception that steel joists do not match the performance capabilities of beams. Learn the truth about steel joist performance from the structural engineers that design today’s high-performing floor systems.
